Prevention and Treatment of Child Abuse and Neglect
GRADUATE STUDENT/TEACHER INTERNSHIP EXCHANGE PROGRAM
Interns in La Dignite's Exchange Program will assist in the provision of short-term relief and long-term assistance to victims of child abuse and neglect as well as in the protection and provision of support for those at risk.
Using a holistic approach, La Dignite's primary objective in creating the Exchange Program is to assist in the prevention and treatment of child abuse, neglect, and exploitation.
La Dignite's main objective will be realized through fulfillment of the following specific objectives:
La Dignite will identify teachers and students pursuing graduate degrees in psychology, counseling, social work, and related fields who are interested in interning in our program. These students will provide assistance with assessments, counseling, mentoring, and the training of other professionals and community organizations addressing the issues of child abuse, neglect, and exploitation.
The Exchange Program will provide assistance with risk assessments for individual children, determinations of services needed for children who are identified as at-risk, and home visits to help prevent the maltreatment of children.
In collaboration with schools and other educational institutions, and community, private, and non-profit organizations, the Exchange Program will assist in providing resources and support for victims of child abuse and neglect during treatment periods.
Note: Graduate students will have the opportunity to acquire hands-on experience in their field through our international, internship opportunity. Students will gain marketable skills to further enhance their career goals.
